Statesville, North Carolina
We are heartbroken to announce the peaceful passing of Irma Luz Ramos, affectionately known as Nena by her grandson, on May 21, 2026. Born in Rio Piedras, Puerto Rico, on November 7, 1948, Irma was a loving and compassionate soul who made a significant impact on the lives of everyone she met. She was a pillar of support for her family, a beacon of light in their lives, and the best mother one could ever wish for.
Irma was a woman of courage and resilience. Her journey took her to various corners of the world – Texas, Germany, Panama, Georgia, Florida, and finally, North Carolina. Each place she lived became a part of her, contributing to her unique perspective on life. Irma was a passionate lover of handmade crafts. Her love for decorative towel sets and flower bouquets was only rivaled by her enjoyment of word searches. She found joy in the simplest things, reinforcing the adage that "Happiness is not in the mere possession of money; it lies in the joy of achievement, in the thrill of creative effort." Irma was testament to this, her life a beautiful tapestry of love, resilience, and nurturing care.
Married on April 26, 2000, Irma was a devoted wife, always supportive and understanding. Her family was her world, and she was theirs.
Irma is survived by her husband Gustavo, her 3 children Alex, Jessica and Carlos; as well as by her 4 grandchildren, Jemuel, Jadiel, Blake and Lexi.
We invite you to share your cherished memories of Irma and upload photos to the memorial page. Let's remember Irma, not just for the void she leaves behind, but for the love she shared, the lives she touched, and the joy she brought into our lives.
