James Bolden

James Edward Bolden was born February 28, 1963, in Charlotte, NC, and passed away on November 2, 2025, at Atrium Health Carolinas Medical Center. He was the son of the late Charles and Maggie Roberta Bolden.

He was a graduate of South Mecklenburg High School. He went on to further his education at George Washington University and Oral Roberts University. He joined the Navy and proudly served his country. James's passion for helping people and his community led him to become a paralegal. He loved learning, teaching, and sharing what he learned. James used this wealth of knowledge and passion for helping others to write a book called Funny Money Universe, published in 2011. He worked for the VA until his health declined.

James loved his family and friends dearly, so he would often go out of his way to help them. He loved to laugh, eat, and have a good time. He enjoyed sports, and his favorite team was the Georgia Bulldogs.

James was preceded in death by his parents, Charles and Maggie Roberta Bolden, and his sister, Ruth Bolden.

He leaves behind, to cherish his fond memories, three brothers: Charles (Betty) Bolden, Ronnie Bolden, and David (Nona Alise) Bolden—a host of aunts, uncles, nephews, nieces, cousins, and friends.
