It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of Kimberly Kay Cooper, fondly known as Kym, on January 18, 2025, in Kannapolis, NC. Born on October 30, 1978, in Fremont, CA. Through her love, loyalty, and incredible strength, Kym showed endless support for everyone she held dear. Her vibrant spirit left an unforgettable impression in every state she called home, from California to South Carolina.
Kym was a loving mother to Kydarian Hall-Cooper, KyTonni Cooper, Ga’licia Benton, George Benton, a grandmother to Autumn Coleman and Khalil Benton. Kym was a sister to Crystal Page, she was also a sister-in-law and a loving aunt to five nieces and nephews. Though her relationship with her father, Edward Stinson, and half-siblings was limited, they are still part of her broader family story. Her children and grandchildren were the center of her world, and she couldn’t have been prouder of the individuals they have become and are destined to be.
Her love for the color blue was unmistakable—everyone who knew her could see it in every corner of her life!
With over 30 years in customer service and the food and beverage industries, she worked in leadership at places like Riverbanks Zoo and Garden, Publix, and Charlotte Douglas Airport. Her work ethic and bright personality made her a standout in every role she held. She was also proud to earn her high school equivalent, a reflection of her drive to always improve. In her free time, she enjoyed shopping, couponing, finding the best deals, and traveling with her family.
Preceding Kym in death is her beloved mother, Marcia (Gram) Cooper. The bond they shared was strong and timeless. Kym will forever remain alive in the hearts of those fortunate enough to have known her. It is the memories we shared with Kym, the love she gave, and the joy she brought into our lives that we will carry forward.
We invite you to leave your memories and upload photos of Kym to the memorial page, allowing us to celebrate her life and the remarkable woman she was. Let us remember Kym Cooper, not with sorrow, but with the same joy and laughter she brought into our lives.
