Patti Jean Doty

–

Concord, North Carolina

It is with resolute hearts and loving memories that we announce the passing of our beloved Patti Jean Doty. As her daughter, Kelly, I am honored to share the story of this extraordinary woman who graced our lives with her resilience, wit, spirit, and humor. We are comforted in knowing that Patti, born on June 5, 1943, in Cheshire, CT, lived her life fully and passed away on March 22, 2024, leaving behind a legacy of love and laughter.

Patti was a woman of many talents, her wit and humor being the most cherished of them all. She was the kind of person who could make anyone smile, even on their darkest days. As Helen Keller once said, "Character cannot be developed in ease and quiet. Only through experience of trial and suffering can the soul be strengthened, vision cleared, ambition inspired, and success achieved." This quote encapsulates Patti's resilience. She faced challenges head-on and emerged stronger each time. She was an accomplished Certified Nursing Assistant, retiring in 1995 after touching countless lives with her compassionate care. She was also a spirited bowler, a hobby that she enjoyed immensely, and often bowled us over with her funny anecdotes about her bowling exploits.

Patti made Concord, North Carolina her home for 36 years, and she loved every corner of it. She was a pillar of the community, always ready to lend a helping hand or share a joke to lighten the mood. Patti was preceded in death by her parents and is survived by her loving family: her daughter Kelly Doty, grandsons Quentin Marsh and Jahwaan Marsh, sister Doreen Pruitt, nieces Michelle Pruitt and Laurie Partyka, nephew Rich Pruitt, and step-son Jimmy Doty. Her spirit will live on in them, and her stories will continue to be told with the same wit and humor that she shared them.

We invite you to visit Patti's memorial page where you can share your beloved memories of her and upload photos that capture her vibrant spirit. We look forward to celebrating Patti's life with you, remembering her resilience, her wit, her spirit, and most importantly, her funny and loving nature.
