Sophia Deanna Oglesby

Sophia “Booga” Deanna Oglesby, 23, of Salisbury, North Carolina, entered eternal rest on Tuesday, February 18, 2025. She was born on December 2, 2001, in Salisbury, North Carolina, to Miss Sophia Daniels and Mr. Reginald Dean Oglesby Sr.

Sophia attended Salisbury High School and worked as a dietary aide at Tella Bella. She loved spending quality time with her beloved daughters and her large, close-knit family. One of her greatest joys was enjoying seafood, her all-time favorite meal.

She was preceded in death by her uncles, George “Andy” Daniels and Movel Daniels Sr.

Sophia leaves behind to cherish her memory her two precious daughters, Kahlasia Sims Oglesby and Kahmiya Sims Oglesby; her loving parents, Sophia Daniels and Reginald Dean Oglesby Sr.; her siblings: Reginald Oglesby Jr., Tyion Pharr, Regioni Oglesby, Jasiel Oglesby, Xavier Oglesby, Shawn Black, Doris Oglesby, Tylesha Oglesby, Shaneya Mashore, Shatima Houston all of Salisbury, NC and Shanekqwo Heggins (Winston-Salem). She is also survived by her maternal grandparents, Mr. Raymond Truesdale and Ms. Loraine Daniels; her paternal grandparents, Ms. Sheila D. Robinson and Mr. Reginald Robinson of Salisbury, NC; her uncles, Marty Burke Sr., Broderick Daniels, and Jimmy H. Oglesby (Tasha), all of Salisbury, NC; her aunts, Deborah Daniels and Phyllis Wright, all of Salisbury, NC, her great-uncle, Charles Wood (Lynn); and two great-aunts, Patti Petteway and special aunt Charlene.

Sophia will be deeply missed by her significant other, Kahil Sims, her mother-in-law, Kewon Sims, and extended family Allanah McArthur, Kyree Sims, Amari McArthur, Jayson Sims, Maco Miller, all of Salisbury, NC along with a host of loving relatives, cousins, nieces, nephews, and dear friends.

Sophia "Booga" Deanna Oglesby was truly loved and will never be forgotten. May her soul rest in eternal peace.
